Summer Storage

The Summer Storage plan is ideal for AU students who want to place their items in storage for the entire summer.

In-Room Pickup and In-Room Return!
  • You receive four free boxes, packing tape & personalized coded labels.
  • Pack and label the boxes, then leave them in your room.
  • We collect the boxes after you leave.
  • Your items are stored in a safe, climate-controlled warehouse for the summer.
  • We return your items to your fall room before you return to school.
  • Living off campus? No worries, we provide free pickup service at The UPS Store beginning August 14!

How Summer Storage Works

Get your four free boxes and tape at The UPS Store

  • Boxes will be available from The UPS Store beginning April 27.
  • Our large sturdy boxes (18″x18″x18″) provide enough space for most students.

Receive you personalized labeling kit

  • Your kit will contain large, color coded labels with your name and fall address.
  • Label your boxes following the instructions in your kit.
  • Leave your items in your room and go home!

We pick up your boxes from your room after your departure

  • Our staff will collect your boxes from your room after the residence halls have closed.

We inventory and store your boxes

  • Your belongings will be stored in a safe, climate controlled warehouse during the summer.

Additional Storage & Unboxed Items

Additional storage is $80/box for our standard 18” x 18” x 18” box. Larger boxes cost more, smaller boxes cost less. You may purchase additional boxes or use your own.

Unboxed items like refrigerators and plastic bins may also be stored. 

IMPORTANT

Items in the Summer Storage plan are not accessible before August 14.  Please consider using Short Term Storage if you will need your items before this date.

Storage Return

On-campus Students

  • Your storage will be placed into your room before the residence halls open for general student occupancy (August 14).
  • We work with AU Housing to return your items between August 10-13.
  • If you are returning as an "early arrival" before your dorm's scheduled open date, you should make plans for a few days without your items.

Off-campus Students

  • Free pick up from our on-campus AU Store beginning August 14.
  • You may also have your storage delivered to you. Off campus delivery charges may apply (see details below). Please provide 48 hours notice for off campus delivery.
  • Pick up and delivery times are Monday – Friday, 9-5.

Fall Semester Storage FAQs

Storing your items couldn’t be easier.  Pack and label your boxes, leave them in your room, then go home!

We collect your items after the residence halls close for the summer. Your belongings are then placed into a safe, ventilated, climate controlled warehouse for the summer.  They are returned to your fall address between August 10-13.

How do we do it? We work with AU Housing to place storage into your dorm room between August 10-13. Your storage will be waiting for you when you return to DC.

Off campus delivery is available for students who want their storage delivered somewhere other than main campus.

The service costs $139, and arrangements for delivery must be made 48 hours in advance.

We provide a three hour delivery window so you don’t need to wait around all day. We are very punctual.

TIP: Avoid the off campus delivery fee by picking up your storage at our store. We are right on campus. Don’t have a car? Call for an Uber XL.
