Study Abroad Storage

Designed for AU students traveling abroad for fall semester.

Nine months of storage. Great Value!

  • You receive four free boxes, packing tape & personalized coded labels noting your semester abroad designation.
  • Pack and label the boxes, then leave them in your room.
  • Go on Summer Break and your fabulous semester abroad. We pick up your items after you depart.
  • Your belongings are stored in a safe, climate-controlled warehouse for the summer and fall semester.
  • Next January, retrieve your items from The UPS Store on campus with 48 hours notice.

How Study Abroad Storage Works

Get your four free boxes and tape at The UPS Store

  • Boxes will be available from The UPS Store beginning April 27.
  • Our large sturdy boxes (18″x18″x18″) provide enough space for most students.​

Receive your personalized labeling kit

  • Your kit will contain large, color coded labels with your name and fall address.
  • Label your boxes following the instructions in your kit.
  • Leave your items in your room and go home!

We pick up your boxes from your room after your departure

  • Our staff will collect your boxes from your room after the residence halls have closed.

We inventory and store your boxes

  • Your belongings will be stored in a safe, climate controlled warehouse during the summer and fall semester.

Additional Study Abroad Storage

Additional storage is $150/box for our standard 18” x 18” x 18” box. Larger boxes cost more, smaller boxes cost less. You may purchase additional boxes or use your own.

Unboxed items like refrigerators and plastic bins may also be stored. Please note that prices listed for unboxed items are the rate per semester. Study Abroad Storage counts as two semesters.

Items in the Study Abroad Storage plan are not accessible before January 7, 2027.  Please contact us if you will need your items before this date.

Storage Retrieval

January 2027

  • Free pickup from The UPS Store on campus beginning January 7, 2027.
  • Delivery is available for students who want their storage delivered to an off-campus address. The service costs $139.
  • Arrangements for delivery must be made two business days hours in advance and must be scheduled for a weekday.
  • You should be present to accept delivery when the courier arrives. We provide a three hour delivery window.

AVOID THE DELIVERY FEE

Pick up your storage for free at our store. We are conveniently located right on campus. Don’t have a car? Lyft, Uber, etc.

Your sign-up secures your storage for nine months, May 2026 through January 2027.
